New OIG Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Hotline Number: (877) OIG-TIPS

The Palm Beach County (PBC) Office of Inspector General (OIG) recently launched a new Hotline number, (877) OIG-TIPS. The OIG accepts tips and complaints from all sources about potential fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement in local government .

  • Criminal activity, such as: theft, bribery, corruption, blackmail, and kickbacks
  • Waste, fraud, abuse, or mismanagement of government funds, programs, or property
  • Fraudulent conduct resulting in any entity or person improperly receiving funds from a contract or transaction with local government
  • Mismanagement of government funds, programs, or assets
  • Contracting or procurement fraud or other procurement violations
  • Travel or purchase card fraud
  • Violations of laws, policies, and regulations that affect government programs and operations

Who can report to the OIG? Anyone, any time

Anonymous Complaints: We accept anonymous complaints! For those wishing to remain anonymous, it is important that you provide sufficient information/evidence that would warrant OIG action.

Confidentiality of complainant’s name and information: Should you provide your name via our Hotline, email (inspector@pbcgov.org), or our website (https://www.pbcgov.org/oig), such information is confidential and exempt from disclosure until our investigation is closed.

Whistleblower protection: Whistleblower status may be granted to those who report suspected acts of gross mismanagement, malfeasance, misfeasance, gross waste of public funds, or gross neglect of duty committed by an employee or agent of an agency or independent contractor. If you are granted whistleblower status, your name and identity will remain confidential.
